One part of the hip-hop duo Tebi Rex; Max Zanga and artist Local Boy aka Jake Hurley have collaborated on a hot new track called ‘Sláinte’, with all proceeds going to Doras Luimni, a charity that aims to end direct provision in Ireland.
It is an instant piece to have a listen to, with the music mixed by Adam Shanahan he adds a magic flare to the tune. Created for Zanga’s masters thesis on hip-hop it’s a clean cut work of art. It features aesthetic visuals and heavenly lyrics, soaring the melody through out. ‘Sláinte’, meaning health as gaeilge, is a refreshing name to see for a song. It’s seen as nothing more than a simple Irish word here, but it is something special for the world to see and perfectly represents this track, with it also spreading more Irish culture into the alternative hip-hop scene….Or maybe the boys just thought it had a nice ring to it….
