First time at longitude or any festival at all? Don't fret, because we care about you so much, here's a few guidelines from the Slight Motif team to make sure you have a smooth "L"-less longitude experience.
You will most likely be drinking or eating your vegetables at this festival to get a good feel of the vibes. Just make sure to pace yourself at the predrinks and at the park(if you’re rich). Don’t over do it and have to get escorted out before three acts have performed.
You have no business paying the prices of watered down drinks at the festival unless you have the money to spend. Food as well should only be purchased on the condition that it is absolutely necessary
3.)TOILETS ARE SEGREGATED BY SEX
So for any of you that found your soulmates and want to test the waters, you’re better off mapping out the best bushes around the park in your mind
3.5 AGE ISN’T JUST A NUMBER
For lads. On the topic of Summer Lovin, There’s a lot of young people that attend this festival. So if you’re not absolutely sure she’s over 18, she isn’t.
4. FRIEND IN NEED IS A FRIEND INDEED.
For those of you who weren’t lucky enough to secure a ticket on time. Sneaking in may seem like a possibility, but there are actually residents in the area that will be accompanied by Gardai to question you for your residential papers if you try to sneak in through the estates. So befriend one of the Residents or Pay the €300 for the ticket. Sneaking in is possible, but all we can say is Goodluck if you try
5. YOU WILL GET LOST.
Organize with your friends and coordinate how to manœuvre the park in case you get separated. Bring a powerbank with you. Trying to communicate locations in snap map, messenger, DM or whatever sort of platform is difficult due to the weak service in the park. Calling is also unlikely due to everything around you and the person you’re trying to talk to being unbearably loud. There is a slightly stronger signal around locations like the Heineken stage. Move as a unit and try pattern something between yourselves
6. MELANIN AND MELA-NONE
For those who suffer from sunlight abuse. Put on sunblock so your skin doesn’t punish you later. For those who suffer from ashiness. Put on lotion so your “friends” don’t roast you worse than the sun roasts the skin of the people that don’t wear sun block. For those who suffer neither, enjoy
7. GOING TO AND FROM THE PARK.
Taxi is difficult due to traffic. Buses are packed with people like you. Luas might be best to get as close to the park as possible. Then walk. But get there early and leave early if you want to beat the crowds.
8. DRESS APPROPRIATELY-ISH
Check the weather and plan for the worst. It’s easier to take off a poncho if it doesn’t rain than it is to firm it and stand in the rain when all you’re wearing is a crop top or tank top and shorts
9. DON’T CARRY TOO MUCH
You’re going to be moshing and vibing out and the last thing you want is to be weighed down by your three power banks, white towel, resting blanket, jacket Incase it rained for real and you didn’t want just a poncho for protection, spare shorts, make up, hair brush, lotion and sun cream, four water bottles, wallet, phone, Headphones, PS4, bottles of prosecco, Burgers, pizza, best friend, eight pairs of sunglasses, two hats and so on. Just take the essentials. Most of those things can get easily misplaced as well. If you’ve survived a sunny and rainy day without it. You don’t need it.
10. DON’T FORGET YOUR TICKET
Matter of fact I’m going to leave now to put it in my bag which is not packed with too much things because I take my own advice. If there are any guidelines you feel should be added, don't hesitate to drop in the comments section below. most important of all, Enjoy the heck out of it all guys, its going to be epic!
