In the past few years, we have seen a few link ups between Irish artists and international artists. About 3 on Evans Junior; Organized mess, RajiMusic with MikesComedy on ‘Good Afternoon” and many more we probably don’t know about. This right here though, might be the first unexpected but most organic one we’ve ever experienced. South London indie soul singer song writer Joy Crookes releases new single, featuring Dublin’s finest, Jafaris.
Following his album release; Stride, Jafaris has remained on the radar with performances, photoshoots and teasers for new music. Tied in with all of that, we observed a growing relationship with the well established and vibrant Joy Crookes who is also of Irish decent, specifically Cabra. She made this very clear in a video message to us using Jafaris’ Instagram after gesturing that the only place she knows in Ireland is Cabra.
Today we have ourselves with this new single; which features amazing performances from both artists. Early is a happily melancholic piece that would perfectly describe modern day love affairs or how they would even begin; too early Both artists blend styles perfectly. Even though as solo artists they are far off from the same spectrum, their presence and lyrical fluidity is felt throughout the single.
There will most likely be more music/projects coming from these two. It is exciting to see Joy Crookes connect with Cabra, I mean Ireland in such an organic way. October 28th finds us with her first show in Dublin. Tickets below
